Interpreters Working In A Domestic
& Family Violence Context – Forum
In partnership with AUSIT and Professionals Australia

Dear Firstname

The role of interpreters in the provision of domestic and family violence support services to women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds is crucial in ensuring safety and understanding at a time of distress and uncertainty.

The Immigrant Women’s Support Service has over 30 years of experience providing support services to women victims/survivors of domestic and family violence.  This work would not be possible without the professional support of accredited interpreters.

The main objective of this free forum is to provide interpreters with a service provider’s perspective and to offer service providers a unique opportunity to hear from interpreters about their experience of working within a domestic and family violence setting.

Please join us to share current knowledge and to learn from each other about best practice in providing support and interpreting services to victims/survivors of domestic and family violence. Other important topics will include interpreter self-care and vicarious trauma.

Presenters: Immigrant Women’s Support Services (IWSS) and invited Speakers
