Induction Workshop for Translators
Saturday 24 February 2018

Dear Firstname

AUSIT QLD branch welcomes all members and non-members to an Induction Workshop for Translators.

This workshop is aimed at the newly certified translator and is intended to give him or her helpful strategies for a successful start in the profession. Topics include: Starting off as a translator, basic considerations on setting up your business, ideas on how to get work, delivering quality work, essential software and much more. There will also be extended Q&A sessions. Don’t miss the opportunity to ask seasoned translators everything you wanted to know about getting started in the profession.

This event will be co-presented by Elisabeth Kissel and Renata Oliveira Munro.

Elisabeth Kissel is an experienced German <> English translator and an AUSIT Senior Practitioner. She has been presenting workshops for AUSIT for several years and has served both in her local Queensland AUSIT branch as well as on the Organising Committee for the FIT2017 Congress. She hopes that this induction will provide answers about practical aspects of the profession and will enable newly-qualified translators to start their career with confidence.

Renata Oliveira Munro is a certified translator from Portuguese to English. She has been working as a freelance translator for 10 years. Renata has been the Queensland AUSIT branch secretary for 3 years now and since becoming an AUSIT QLD committee member, she has had the chance to present a number of sessions during conferences organized by the local AUSIT branch. She is looking forward to sharing the presentation with Elisabeth Kissel and to provide some tricks of the trade to assist newly certified professionals to forge a great career in translation.
