Four scholarships for AUSIT National Conference,
Hobart 18-19 October 2019

AUSIT invites interested members to send your resumes (no more than two pages) and an explanation letter outlining the reasons (no more than one page) why you would like to attend the AUSIT National Conference, Hobart 18-19 October 2019.

The four successful applicants in four different categories (i.e. one recipient in each category) will receive a maximum of $1000 to cover conference fees, standard accommodation and economy flights.

Requirements:

Applicants must:

  • quote the relevant scholarship Category Code in their application. Applications without specifying the scholarship code will not be prioritised.
  • only apply for one scholarship.
  • agree to submit a paragraph of your experience from attending this conference.
  • agree for AUSIT to publish the afore-mentioned paragraph on its magazine, social media, newsletters, and/or other platforms.
  • agree to the AUSIT payment turnaround (it may take up to four weeks to process your payment after the reimbursement form and evidence are submitted.)



Student practitioner scholarship x 1
(Category code – AUSIT SP)

Eligibility requirements:

  • Current AUSIT members (including all types of AUSIT memberships)
  • Outstanding academic records from last semester
  • A recommendation letter from your lecturer or program coordinator
  • Submit CV (no more than two pages) and Letter of Explanation (no more than one page) as attachments in Microsoft Word or PDF only. (Please do NOT share your CV or Letter of Explanation with AUSIT through Cloud, such as OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.)

Assessment (assessment will be carried out based on the following areas):

Applications will be assessed based on the following criteria

  • AUST membership (all types)
  • Recommendation letter
  • Relevant T&I awards
  • CV (please make sure it meets the format requirements)
  • Letter of explanation (please make sure it meets the format requirements)



Practitioner of an emerging language scholarship x 1
(Category code – AUSIT PEL)

Eligibility requirements:

  • Current AUSIT members (including all types of AUSIT memberships)
  • Practicing in a new and emerging language (We use Recommended National Standards for Working with Interpreters in Courts and Tribunals as a reference. Your language should not be listed as a Tier A language at P43 https://www.naati.com.au/media/1680/mca04694-national-standards-web-171025pdf.pdf )
  • Submit CV (no more than two pages) and Letter of Explanation (no more than one page) as attachments in Microsoft Word or PDF only. (Please do NOT share your CV or Letter of Explanation with AUSIT through Cloud, such as OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.)

Assessment (assessment will be carried out based on the following areas):

Applications will be assessed based on the following criteria

  • AUST membership (all types)
  • Your language – new and emerging
  • Relevant T&I awards
  • CV (please make sure it meets the format requirements)
  • Letter of explanation (please make sure it meets the format requirements)



Practitioner from a regional area scholarship x 1
(Category code – AUSIT PRA)

Eligibility requirements:

Assessment (assessment will be carried out based on the following areas):

Applications will be assessed based on the following criteria

  • AUST membership (all types)
  • Your residential area postcode
  • Relevant T&I awards
  • CV (please make sure it meets the format requirements)
  • Letter of explanation (please make sure it meets the format requirements)



Outstanding practitioner scholarship x 1
(Category code – AUSIT OP)

Eligibility requirements:

  • Current AUSIT members (including all types of AUSIT memberships)
  • A record of outstanding T&I experience and performance, including your professional memberships and your contribution to the T&I industry.
  • Submit CV (no more than two pages) and Letter of Explanation (no more than one page) as attachments in Microsoft Word or PDF only. (Please do NOT share your CV or Letter of Explanation with AUSIT through Cloud, such as OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.)

Assessment (assessment will be carried out based on the following areas):

Applications will be assessed based on the following criteria

  • AUST membership (all types)
  • Your outstanding experience and performance, including your professional memberships and your contribution to the T&I industry.
  • Relevant T&I awards
  • CV (please make sure it meets the format requirements)
  • Letter of explanation (please make sure it meets the format requirements)

Deadline:

Deadline: Please send your CV and Letter of Explanation to education@ausit.org by 23:59 AEST 15 September 2019. The four scholarship recipients will be notified shortly after this date. Generally speaking, late submissions will not be considered.

Payments:

Scholarship recipients will need to fill out a reimbursement form. Payment will be processed upon completion of the conference.
