QLD190223 - Overview by T/I Agencies

Overview by T/I Agencies

Saturday 23 February 2019    2:00 pm - 4:20 pm (AEST)

AUSIT QLD invites you to an information and discussion session with representatives from three of Brisbane’s largest T&I service providers, including networking opportunities for you to meet with the agents themselves.

During the session, agency representatives will present on topics such as:
•       How to market yourself to agencies, particularly if you are new to the profession or have come to Australia from a country with a different communication structure.
•       Agencies’ expectations of translators and interpreters; what kinds of jobs you might be assigned and how the agreement between contractors and agencies works in practice.
•       What matters most to each agency: over and above linguistic ability, what else are they looking for?  Find out whether any particular technical skills, CAT tools, qualifications and personal qualities could help you to stand out.

Hearing directly from agencies and learning how to build good working relationships with them is at the heart of these talks. AUSIT QLD seeks to support and enable all practitioners in this regard.

Following the presentations there will be a panel discussion and networking.  This is a great opportunity for you to put your questions directly to the agency representatives, and don’t forget to bring your business cards.
