Steps involved in online event registration

  1. Log in to your account. If you are not a member of our association, you may need to create a new account first.
  2. Once you have logged in, scroll down and click "Register Myself"
  3. Some events may require you to answer questions about dietary requirements and other information.
  4. If the event has program items, click "Add" next to any item you wish to attend (not all events have program items)
  5. Click "Proceed to Checkout" to pay for your registration. Your registration is not valid until we receive your payment.

AUSIT - Notetaking for Interpreters

The course is intended for beginners aiming to learn note-taking techniques for consecutive interpreting and for practicing interpreters who would like to refresh and develop their skills. The objective is for participants to develop a reliable and efficient note-taking system to support their memory in community interpreting settings. It will be a non-language-specific course with a maximum of 20 participants, preferably with more than one participant from the same language group. All the skills required in consecutive interpreting will be demonstrated and practiced: listening, comprehension, analysis, short-term memory, conversion and delivery. A variety of material will be used, relating primarily to typical community interpreting settings. Speaker Felicity Mueller is a Senior Conference Interpreter for German and English and a Translator working mainly from German and Russian into English and a member of AUSIT, AIIC and the International Association of Conference Interpreters.
