If you run, or teach on, a translation and/or interpreting course at an institution that isn’t listed above, you can find out how to become an AUSIT Educational Affiliate here.
If you’re thinking of studying translation and/or interpreting, or someone that you know is thinking of doing so, take a look at these useful guides, developed by FIT Europe alongside language industry players EUATC, GALA and LIND, with the support of the European Commission’s DG Translation. There’s one for individuals, one for parents and one for teachers.
Then check out all the courses in translation and/or interpreting that are run by our Educational Affiliates around Australia (download the spreadsheet below). They’re all endorsed by Australia’s National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI), so they’re accepted by employers such as the federal and state governments as well as healthcare authorities and providers of legal and language services.
And once you’re enrolled on a course, join AUSIT – there are so many benefits to being a student member. You can read about some of them here.
The spreadsheet available below provides details on the various NAATI-endorsed courses in translation and/or interpreting (T&I) offered by AUSIT’s Educational Affiliate institutions.
for court interpreters to report incidents or issues that occur in court interpreting assignments.
Purpose and function of this information submission form.
This form enables you to report issues or problems that you encounter in the course of court interpreting assignments. These issues and problems will be collected by AUSIT to report to the JCCD (the Judicial Council on Cultural Diversity) to monitor the implementation of the Recommended National Standards. The reporting of these issues and problems enables AUSIT to work with the JCCD to suggest steps to address these issues and to avoid the repetition of these problems in the future.
