Interpreter Feedback Form and Reports: experiences in courts and tribunals
While you’re at the conference, make the most of the chance to meet other people working in translation, interpreting and related industries at the two evening events. They are a great opportunity to network, make new contacts and friends, and socialise with colleagues and stakeholders from all around Australia.
This networking event with canapés and drinks is the conference’s first opportunity to meet up with colleagues, old friends and translation and interpreting industry stakeholders from around Australia.
This year the Welcome Reception will take place in Louie Louie @ Verity Lane Market, 50 Northbourne Ave, Canberra, 7–9 pm AEDT. You can read more about the (very hip) venue here.
This photo from last year’s Welcome Reception gives a good idea of what to expect.

The Conference Dinner is the peak networking/social event of Australia’s T&I industry. The formal 3-course dinner and drinks will be accompanied by entertainment (details TBC) plus presentation of the biennial AUSIT Excellence Awards,* followed – for those who like to party on, and we know from past years that some of you do, we’ve got the photos! – by a DJ set which we promise will suit a wide variety of tastes and ages.
This year’s event will be held in the Federation Ballroom, Hyatt Hotel Canberra, 120 Commonwealth Ave, Yarralumla, 6:30–11 pm AEDT. You can read more about this tastefully restored historic venue here.
For a better idea of what you can expect, check out some moments captured last year in Melbourne (top) and in 2023 (including the last AUSIT Excellence Awards Ceremony) in Sydney.

for court interpreters to report incidents or issues that occur in court interpreting assignments.
Purpose and function of this information submission form.
This form enables you to report issues or problems that you encounter in the course of court interpreting assignments. These issues and problems will be collected by AUSIT to report to the JCCD (the Judicial Council on Cultural Diversity) to monitor the implementation of the Recommended National Standards. The reporting of these issues and problems enables AUSIT to work with the JCCD to suggest steps to address these issues and to avoid the repetition of these problems in the future.
